So, remember when we were at the Big Buddha? That was yesterday, so I hope you didn’t forget. That would be embarrassing. Embarrassing for you because it was only yesterday and embarrassing for me because that would indicate my post was forgettable.

Tian Tan, Lantau’s Big Buddha
The other day, my fella and I checked out one of the coolest things that we’ve done here, thus far. We headed to Lantau, which is an island of Hong Kong. I had been looking forward to this day trip for a while. It did not disappoint.
Victoria Peak: Top of the city
The other day my fella and I took a trip to the top of Hong Kong, Victoria Peak. *
Avenue of the Stars
King Hing Tofu Dessert
Star Ferry
The oldest, most awesome ferry in all of Hong Kong is the Star Ferry.
Ok, I’ve not been on the every ferry that Hong Kong has, but I love the old-world charm of this ferry.
Kowloon Park, not after dark
Check out Kowloon Park. This is one nice park. Well maintained, pretty clean, complete with a community center and aviary area. I didn’t go to where the birds were, I have a track record for birds liking to poop on me. Knock on wood, I’ve been bird poop free in Hong Kong. Like many parks, I hear that it gets kind of seedy at night, where people score drugs and whatever else people do in parks at night.
Getting around in Hong Kong
I love Hong Kong’s public transportation. The options are pretty much endless. You can take your pick.
Ferry, Double Decker Bus, Mini-bus, Train, Trolley and Tram. Cabs and personal cars are options too, but I rarely use those. I haven’t been in personal car since I left America.
Macau Treats
As a follow up from yesterday, let’s talk food!
Macau, Asia’s Vegas
Last week we took a day trip over to Macau (or Macao) which apparently nicknamed the “Las Vegas of Asia”. I’ve never been to Las Vegas. I’m not sure why people are so surprised when I say that, because I am not much of a gambler. Then they follow it up with, “Nicole, you would love the food.” Good point. I do love food.
I love food to the point that I’m going to do a separate post on the food we brought back from Macau, so follow the link to hear about the non-food related highlights of the Macau trip.
